Carolina Eyck began taking theremin lessons with Lydia Kavina at the age of 7 and can now look back on a remarkable international career. She has been invited to perform by well-known orchestras and chamber musicians and is a frequent guest at festivals and shows. In 2002 she had her debut with the Theremin at the Berlin Philharmonie. One year later she was invited to play with the Radio Symphonic Orchestra at the Berlin Concert Hall. In 2005 sheperformed at the B. Martinu international music festival in Basel. She was invited tothe Science Festival in Luxemburg, the 21st Davos Festival, the ElectronicFestival in Budapest, Music Moderna in Land to multimedia performances for the SERVI-project. She also played with the 10-theremin orchestra in Los Angeles. Upcoming concert will take place in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal,Mexico and Japan. With her book "The Art of Playing the Theremin" she published in 2006, Carolina defines a systematic method of playing the theremin. With this method she hopes to increase the number of people interested in the theremin and professional playing thereminists, in order to give the instrument its definite place within the music world.
